I've been a chef for more than twenty years, cooking all over the world, from private yachts to professional kitchens. Through all those experiences, my goal has always been the same: to bring people joy through food that also makes them feel good. Over time, I started creating vegetable blends for my own use in the kitchen because they helped me make meals that were full of flavor and nutrition, but also simple and quick to prepare. They became something I relied on every day, a quiet staple that made it easy to serve soups, sauces, dips, and spreads that were both healthy and comforting.
In 2019, my longtime boss, Diane von Fürstenberg, had health challenges, and I used these same blends to support her recovery. They helped her eat more vegetables in a way that was easy and enjoyable. She was the one who encouraged me to share them more widely. Together we decided to bring them to market, but we wanted to do it without compromise. We wanted the exact blends we used in our kitchens, not a diluted store version filled with stabilizers or additives.
What followed was a long period of development and refinement. Many food scientists told us we would need to change the formula or add ingredients that would make the process easier. I didn't want to do that. I wanted OKO to stay true to its purpose: real food, made simply and cleanly, that actually helps people eat better and enjoy it.
After years of work and persistence, we finally achieved what we set out to do. In May 2024, OKO was officially launched. Our products are fresh, organic vegetable blends designed to make everyday cooking easier, healthier, and more joyful. They come from the same place I started as a chef: a love of real food and a belief that good health and good taste should always go hand in hand.
