Climate Day Workshop: Navigating Climate Risk with Open-Source Tools

This interactive workshop will equip attendees with a practical understanding of physical climate risks and the tools to identify and assess these risks within their business operations and value chains, helping them build a compelling business case for action. Participants will learn to distinguish between physical and transition risks and connect them directly to core business functions such as operations, finance, and supply chain management, reinforcing why climate risk is a strategic issue rather than solely an environmental one.

Using Probable Futures’ open-source mapping tool, attendees will receive a live demonstration and then apply the tool to screen for potential physical climate risks across their own company’s assets and supply chains. The session will include small-group discussions to translate findings into clear business implications.

Participants will leave with concrete skills to conduct a preliminary physical climate risk assessment and to articulate how these risks affect business strategy, operations, and financial performance in ways that leadership can understand and act on.
