Grainwell Puffed Grains is a privately owned ingredient, inclusion, and finished goods manufacturer serving the food industry primarily.
Our 105k sf facility in Dyersville, IA manufactures a variety of single ingredient, whole grain, clean label, RTE, puffed items derived from ancient grains such as quinoa, amaranth, sorghum, millet, Kamut, buckwheat, and millet in addition to contemporary grains such as rice, corn, and wheat. We are adding puffed chickpeas and puffed oats. Our puffed grains and legumes can be milled or ground into highly functional, RTE, pre-gelatinized flours.
The primary finished goods categories Grainwell currently serves are granola, nutritional bars, cereal, snack / mix, toddler, bakery, and pasta categories.
Grainwell’s certifications include SQF, Organic, Gluten Free, non-GMO, and Kosher. The facility is split down the middle for full segregation of gluten free and gluten friendly processing, warehousing, and shipping. One side is Top 9 allergen free and the other side utilizes only wheat. All products are processed through a validated kill step, offering a 5-log micro reduction.
Grainwell offers a variety of packaging options from bulk pack for ingredients and inclusions (multi-wall bags, Gaylord totes, bag-in-box, supersacks) to CPG retail packaging in VFFS pillow packs.
Grainwell currently serves mostly CPGs and their brands, but we are also approaching grocery retailers with our ability to supply private label puffed cereal and approaching select pet food and foodservice operators as well. Our current account base is incredibly sticky due to good relationships, product satisfaction, responsive customer service, and quality assurance.
