Wholesome Bakery was born in San Francisco in 2009, out of the vision and hard work of Mandy Harper. Growing up in a Native American household that avoided white sugar, unhealthy fats/oils, and wheat products, Mandy was always on the lookout for healthier sweet treats. When she couldn't find any gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, refined sugar-free, eco-friendly goodies made with healthy fats and oils, she decided to whip up her own!
Mandy's journey in the food industry began at 15, working every job you can imagine. As a young adult, she discovered her knack for developing delicious treats with alternative ingredients. With a dash of tenacity and a sprinkle of resourcefulness, she started Wholesome Bakery from her home kitchen— with no funding, partners, or investors.
Committed to quality and sustainability, Mandy prides herself on using the highest quality ingredients that are not only sustainably produced but also ethically and humanely sourced, often from regenerative farms. Her approach ensures care for the farmer, the consumer, and the environment alike.
