Oshi was founded with a simple but ambitious idea: if plants can be transformed into meat that looks and tastes real, why shouldn't seafood be next?
Our founders, longtime entrepreneurs in food innovation, saw a growing gap in the market. Seafood is one of the most beloved and nutritionally valued proteins in the world—yet it's also one of the most problematic. Overfishing, mercury contamination, antibiotics, and microplastics are pushing consumers to question what they're really eating. At the same time, plant-based alternatives lacked the texture, flakiness, and culinary performance that seafood lovers expect.
Oshi set out to solve that challenge head-on. After years of R&D, we created the world's first plant-based salmon fillet that looks, cooks, and flakes like real salmon.
