CCL Label
Information
CCL Label, a division of CCL Industries, has grown from a small Canadian chemical manufacturing business founded in 1951 into the world's largest label and specialty packaging company. Originally named Connecticut Chemicals (Canada) Ltd., the company shifted away from contract manufacturing in the late 1970s and early 1980s—changing its name to CCL Industries in 1979 and listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1980. Through the 1980s and 1990s, CCL expanded into labels and packaging, eventually selling off its original manufacturing operations entirely by 2006. Over the following decades, CCL accelerated its global growth through major acquisitions, including Purbrick (2010), Avery (2013), Worldmark (2015), Checkpoint Systems (2016), and Innovia Films (2016), greatly broadening its capabilities in labels, shrink sleeves, specialty films, and security/technology solutions. Today, CCL Label operates as the company's largest division, with a global footprint of over 200 facilities in 40+ countries, supplying label and packaging solutions to major brands across food and beverage, personal care, healthcare, and consumer goods.
