We immigrated from The Netherlands to the United States in 2015, after winning the Greencard lottery. Without a network, friends or job lined up in the US, we decided to bring our traditional Dutch coffee snack to the US. We figured bringing cookies would be the easiest way to make new friends and that building our own business would get us fastest acclimatized to the US climate. We started off with the smallest investments and most personal direct consumer feedback, baking live on Farmers' Markets in Austin. 2 Years later we started packaging the products and a year later distributing them. Along the way researching more into food business and systems, we realized how damaging it is for our plant and we pivoted to be all organic and plant based. To become a leading example in sustainability we also turned to better packaging materials and work with minorities and women where we can. Even further down the road, we even spend our time and money on the non profit Caribbean Reef Guardians for who we also work as dive instructors.
