Growing up, we were raised on mainstream American ideas—believing everything we were taught was normal. We followed the standard American diet, used everyday skincare products, and never thought much about it. But over time, we started to realize that many of these habits were actually damaging our health. The skincare products we used were filled with toxic chemicals, and the food we were eating was harming our bodies on a cellular level. Eventually, we became fed up with it.
That's when Moo Elixir was born. Miranda, who was working in a dermatology office at the time, began noticing that even the "high-end" skincare products were packed with harmful ingredients. Concerned about her health—and the health of others—she started looking for healthier alternatives. Around the same time, Brian made the decision to ditch all skincare products and started using tallow instead. Over time, he noticed a remarkable change: his skin became hydrated but not greasy, and his complexion improved.
Inspired by these results, Miranda began experimenting with tallow-based skincare formulations in her kitchen. After a lot of trial and error, she created a collection of balms and creams that were both effective and nourishing. But while these homemade products were great, we knew we wanted to take things further. We didn't just want to make tallow-based skincare in our kitchen—we wanted to create a luxurious line that combined the power of tallow with other botanicals and plant-based ingredients. So, we partnered with a state-of-the-art lab and an industry-leading chemist to bring our vision to life. Together, we developed a collection of clean, luxurious, and truly innovative tallow-based skincare products—ones that not only promote health and healing but are unlike anything else on the market.
