Phoenix Bean

Jenny's Tofu was born out of a deep love for tofu. Owner Jenny Yang was born and raised in Taiwan, where tofu is a staple of everyday meals. She discovered Phoenix Bean, a local tofu supplier that reminded her of the comforting taste of home that she missed when she came to Chicago to earn a graduate degree. When she realized her adopted Midwest home is the nation's largest soybean producer, she set out to change the way her friends and neighbors thought about this wholesome, sustainable protein source grown right in their own backyards.

So, in 2006 Jenny acquired Phoenix Bean Tofu and created the Jenny's Tofu label. Since then, she has significantly expanded the line of tofu products, prepared salads, and soymilks, while remaining committed to the authenticity and artistry of handcrafted, small batch tofu made by a team of expert tofu makers. We now produce two types of soy milk, ten varieties of tofu, from extra soft to extra firm tofu, baked, fried, smoked, and noodles, and seven flavors of prepared tofu salads. Jenny has expanded the distribution of Jenny's Tofu to not only include her local community but nationwide with the help of Sprouts Farmers Market and Whole Foods Market.
