More than twenty years ago, the owner and his wife were wandering through an ancient, olive grove on a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. Somehow, while exploring the craggy slope, they managed to lose their sense of direction. they knew they weren't hopelessly lost, so they paused to get their bearings and rest beneath the beautiful trees. Their thoughts turned to the antiquity of the trees, some of which locals had told them were planted by the Venetians.

They found our way back up the hills to their host's home and at that moment, Phil became determined to find a way to share and recreate a true Mediterranean experience for others back home. What better way than to introduce the wonderful regional specialties of the Mediterranean to the American table?
