The Shirakiku brand was born in Kobe, Japan in 1921 to embody our unwavering promise. At a time when Japanese ingredients were still difficult to find overseas, Shirakiku responded to the longing of Japanese immigrants in America by delivering canned and dried foods from Japan. We made authentic Japanese cuisine accessible and easy to preserve. This was a small but significant step toward bridging the gap in
