Sweety Ice Cream - Mochi Ice Cream

Information

Our story begins in 1978, when our parents set out to bring their favorite Asian flavors - like red bean and matcha - to their new neighborhood, Monterey Park, California. Sweety, the mom-and-pop mochi ice cream shop, was born. Soon after, so were we. Alongside our grandparents, uncles, and aunts, we spent our childhoods "helping" in the ice cream factory, skimming bits of warm, gooey mochi dough and taste testing all the ice cream. Once word got out, the world wanted more, and soon Sweety was in markets across the country.
Over time, us kids grew up, moved out, and got office jobs. But all along, we knew we had been happiest when we were making something we loved, with the people we loved. Just like when we were little. So when our parents told us they were ready to retire, we knew what we had to do; quit our jobs and take over the ice cream factory.
Today, Sweety is still the only family, AAPI-owned and operated mochi ice cream business in America. From using our dad's original mochi recipe, to handpicking the most delicious ingredients, to letting our own kids "help out," every bouncy bite is made with so much love.
We're delighted to keep sharing our family's favorite treats with you, and we hope you love them as much as we do.
