Our company was founded by Alissa Miky in 2019. She is a Japanese social entrepreneur, the youngest awardee of Forbes Japan's 2019 List of 100 Women, and an award-winning news commentator. Her most recent venture, Misaky.Tokyo, was featured in Forbes, the Today Show, Martha Stewart and has 1.4 million TikTok followers.
After moving to the U.S. and finding success with Misaky.Tokyo, a luxury seaweed candy company, Alissa felt that American diet had taken its toll on her body and mind. She gained 40 pounds, faced some difficult health diagnoses, and was constantly tired.
In search of a solution, she looked back to Japan, where food is seen as medicine and seaweed has been promoting good health for millennia. She identified a range of marine plants that promote physical and mental health and formulated OoMee. She is thrilled to share these treasures of the sea with you, and hope they make you say, "Ooo mee! I feel good!"
