We're women owned and founded. Good friends for decades, Barbara Banke, (Chairwoman and Proprietor of Jackson Family Wines), and Peggy Furth (Founder of Chalk Hill Winery), worked for years with the USDA Agricultural Research Service and UC Davis researching the health benefits of dried, milled and pressed chardonnay grapes. They wanted to find a "higher and better" use for the by-product of winemaking.
