Hinode Rice was established in 1934 in California. It began as a created by the California-based Rice Growers Associate and has since become a trusted name in rice across the US, especially in Hawaii and the Pacific region. Today, Hinode is owned by SunFoods, LLC a rice milling and distribution company formed in 2008. SunFoods is a subsidiary of the Australian agribusiness Ricegrowers Limited, which operates under the name SunRice.
