In 1987, Luca and Donatella, a couple of entrepreneurs with a great food and wine culture, founded Bocon and started processing fresh spinach and selling it to major food manufacturers in Italy. Always keeping their philosophy of "starting from fresh", in 1992 they started producing frozen baked meals like "Pasqualina": a typical Italian savory pie filled with ricotta and spinach.
In the following years, they expanded the product range, adding IQF Risotto and Gnocchi and they gained distribution under the Bocon brand and Private Labels.
The story of Bocon changed again when the US market opened its door to their Gnocchi, which secured long-lasting relationships with major US retailers, that now trust Bocon for their Private Labels frozen meals.
In 2022 Bocon decided to open its US office to improve its service to American customers and further expand its presence in the market while launching a new line of typical Italian products that take consumers on a culinary journey through the wonders of Italian cuisine.
