Our journey began in December 2023 when I was home from college during winter break and thinking about what direction to take with my career. Health and fitness have always been an important part of my life. I spent years in the gym and regularly bought protein powders, shakes, and snacks to fuel my workouts. At the same time, I realized that rice was always part of my daily routine.

Rice is delicious and filling, but on its own it has limited nutritional value. For me, it also carries cultural meaning. As someone who is Persian, rice has always been central to family meals, traditions, and celebrations. It is the foundation of so many dishes I grew up eating. While it connects me to my background, I also recognized that it was not the most balanced carb source for someone who is health focused. I wanted to find a way to keep rice at the center of the meal while giving it more nutritional benefits.

That thought led to an experiment. One evening in the kitchen with my dad, we cooked rice with collagen to see if the grains could absorb protein. We sent the sample to a lab and the results showed that the rice not only absorbed the protein but retained it at a high level. This discovery was exciting because it showed that rice could be transformed into something both familiar and functional.

From that small experiment, the idea grew into a brand. What started in a family kitchen became a larger mission to improve a food that is eaten all over the world. On September 15th, 2025, we launched Batch.
