Conagra Brands

Information

For more than 100 years, Conagra Brands has been making great food that brings people together. Founded in 1919 as Nebraska Consolidated Mills, the outfit was initially a collection of four milling companies. Milling remained the focus for the first half century. The 1970's saw a dramatic shift, as NCM changed its name to ConAgra Foods and became a publicly traded company. Mergers and acquisitions over the coming decades brought several beloved brands under the ConAgra banner: Banquet, Hunt's, Orville Redenbacher's, Reddi-wip, Slim Jim and many more. The creation of the Healthy Choice brand, the brainchild of the company's former CEO, reflected ConAgra's spirit of innovation. As American culture and eating habits changed, the company continued to meet customer and consumer needs. Brands evolved from regional favorites to national best-sellers to globally recognized icons. The mid-2010's saw major changes under current CEO Sean Connelly. The rebranded "Conagra Brands" moved its headquarters to downtown Chicago's historic Merchandise Mart. The addition of Birds Eye, Duncan Hines and Wish-Bone further solidified Conagra's industry-leading positions throughout the grocery aisles – both in-store and online. Today's portfolio of iconic and emerging brands reflects the ever-evolving tastes of consumers. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit, Conagra Brands combines a rich heritage of making great food with a sharpened focus on innovation, positioning the company for continued growth throughout its second century.
