Founded in 1953 in Paraguay's Fernheim Colony, our peanut confections began as a family expression of gratitude toward Paraguay for granting peace and opportunity to the German-speaking Mennonite community persecuted in the former Soviet Union. The second generation expanded production in the 1960s with custom-built machinery, and the fourth generation industrialized operations in 1994. Formalized as a company in 2014 amid Paraguay's modernization, Kelwá now blends heritage and advanced processing to serve customers worldwide.
